Alleppey or Alapuzha is a city on the Laccadive Sea in the southern Indian state of Kerala. How to Reach Alleppey :
Air : The Cochin International Airport, located around 78 km away, is the nearest airport to Alleppey. Since regular flights operate from this airport, one does not find any difficulty to reach Alleppey.
Road : The National Highway 66 passes through the city, connecting it to other major cities like Coimbatore, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kollam and Trivandrum via state run KSRTC buses. Luxury air-conditioned buses operate from Chennai, Mysore, Bangalore and Coimbatore to Alleppey.
Rail : The Alleppey Railway Station is located about 4 km away from the city centre and connects Alleppey to other major cities like Trivandrum, Cochin, Vellore, Coimbatore, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai. From the railway station, you can take a bus, hire a taxi or get in an auto-rickshaw to reach the main city.

Revi Karunakaran Museum : The Revi Karuna Karan Memorial Museum in Alappuzha town is a must visit for travellers visiting Alleppey. This is one of the largest Private Museum in Kerala. 11 min (3.6 km) from Punnamada.
Marari Beach : Marari beach is one of the cleanest beaches in Kerala. Marari beach is at a distance of 31 min (16.5 km)from Alleppey Houseboat Boarding Point. Wide variety of accomodation options are available at Marari.
Ambalappuzha Temple : The Ambalappuzha Sri Krishna Temple is believed to have been built during 15th – 17th AD. Located at a distance of 37 min (17.3 km) from Alleppey Houseboats Boarding point.
Kuttanad :The region has the lowest altitude in India, and is one of the few places in the world where farming is carried around 1.2 to 3.0 metres below sea level. Alleppey houseboats cruises through Kuttanad.
